I was reading up on the reviews on newegg.com on the Athlon XP 1800+. A lot of the people on there are saying, "I overclocked this to 200x11=2.2ghz!"

Does this mean that they overclocked an 1800+ to true 3200+ speeds?

thanks

Wow, that's an amazing overclock. But yes, the 3200+ is a 11*200=2.2 ghZ. If the 1800+ has the same amount of cache as a 3200+, then it's running at full 3200+ speeds.

Edit: Looked it up, an 1800+ has 256k cache while the 3200+ has 512k cache. So it's not as fast as a 3200+, but as far as clock speeds go, it is.

Not really... 1700+'s got up to 2.4+ ghz frequently, and the later/newer 1800+ tbreds do just about as well
