2007wfp owners! Flicker?

I reported this kind of behavior in my Benq FP91G+ previously in this forum. I noticed some improvement at image flickering when i change the refresh rate from 60Hz to 75Hz. I sent it to RMA and they will give me a new one next week. Now I noticed this is a common problem in many lcd display..... where is the people saying " LCD doesn't flicker!"??? LLOOOLLLLLLOOL

I recommend to study more on LCD-technology. Good place to start (lesson 1) is:

just to get basics right.

As I promised here's an update:

I've just received my 2007WFP replacement and can confirm that the severe flickering is GONE. It's absolutely imperceptible in normal use, even with ANY shade of full screen solid dark gray (unlike in the previous unit). I can't notice it anymore browsing this forums, for example. The new one is also an S-IPS Rev. A03 Made in Czech Republic.

I made a direct side by side comparison (resetting to factory settings both units) with my previous 2007WFP before returning it and the difference is evident; I even noticed that the previous one had a blueish tint (on the new unit the whites are more...well, white).

The only way to see mild flickering is looking at this pattern in 100% size (zoom):

There is flickering only on the right half of the screen, but it is a lot less than the previous one, and it's the ONLY way to see it. As someone noted before, it's a hard pattern for an LCD monitor to display perfectly.

I have uploaded a video of the new monitor so you can compare side by side:

http://www.canariastelecom.com/personales/franciscogh/

Both monitors are displaying the image posted above with 100% zoom. The videos are only for the sake of flickering comparison, because, although both are configured with 50% brightness over DVI, I used different settings on the webcam to record the videos.

By the way, the previous monitor had a red stuck pixel almost in the center of the screen, and this new one has only one white stuck pixel near the upper left corner, which is a lot less annoying ;). 0% backlight bleeding on this one too.

Thanks for the great news. The lack of major flickering and the S-IPS panel from CZ;)

Hopefully my experience when my monitor finally gets here will be similar.:)

Yes, Dell monitors are excellent quality products but sometimes, because of the complexity of the design and manufacturing process, some problems may appear. Luckily, Dell return policy lets you exchange the monitor as many times as necessary until you get one that meets or exceeds your personal quality standards ;)

Kinda offtopic, but how can i be sure i get a I-IPS? I can test the lcd before i buy it.

I also have 2007wfp rev03 made in cz, and yes, there is some flickering but this is REALLY NOT a deal-breaker. The only cases the flicker is visible (in real every day use and not when displaying some especially made patterns to prove the "mulfunction")- at least in my case- is the site mentioned above and -to a much smaller degree-Photoshop's background.

Other than that the monitor is outstanding. Great color fidelity, sharpness and every other aspect really.

I have discovered the issue some time ago but since everything else was perfect -no banding no dead or stuck sub-pixels- there was no reason rma-ing since it never actually bothered me anyway. I just think that some people are exaggerating about it and without having such an intention, tend to make others feel annoyed by sth they had never noticed or ever had a hard time living with.

Solid colors are not supposed to flicker. THOSE patterns that you linked are SUPPOSED to flicker depending on the type of inversion pattern used by your LCD.
