I know there are many comments on both of these monitors, but I am trying to make a final choice. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with one or both of these monitors.

Whatever I ultimately choose will be used for a wide variety of purposes, including photo and video editing, general office applications (most frequently), gaming (most enjoyed), and occassional video watching.

The Dell has a slight cost advantage, but I am leaning towards the HP because of the well-publicized issues with the 2007fp.

I have the LP2065 and use it mostly for office applications followed by photo editing and some video viewing. No complaints.

There is no reason to buy the Dell unless you're seriously strapped for cash and your needs are sufficiently basic that a low quality S-PVA panel is good enough. The panel lottery odds at present are bad enough that you should just consider the 2007fp a S-PVA monitor. Your chances of getting an S-IPS panel on par with that of the LP2065 sufficiently slim that the cost advantage of the 2007fp is irrelevant.
 
Thanks. I've bitten the bullet and ordered the 2065. I'll post an update when it arrives.
