on the red jerker why not place those speakers a little better? there is no need to have three big speakers that close together. just put the left and right ones in the corners of the rooms and leave the center under your monitor.

edit: just noticed towert has the same denon receiver as me :)

if I put speakers in corners the whole setup wouldn't be symmetrical.. I'm going to make small shelves bolted to the jerker on both sides..

With that display and huge speakers, your gaming and movie sessions must be intense!

Do you sit at the base of the desk when you watch movies? Hello, did you "HEAR" my question?!

I have a sub right at the base of the desk and between the speakers, sub and monitor it is extremely intense.

I usually sit back a few feet while watching movies, not at the base. Even normal computer usage I'm usally reclining 3-5" away from the monitor.

Here is my humble abode. The desk was custom made by myself to fit my room and as you can tell, I’m a cable management nut. Room is neat, easy to move in, has lots of plants, and paintings/prints/art. Enjoy!

Hi resolution pictures linked here, rar’ed so save as and unrar. http://members.dslextreme.com/users/raralith/HardOCP/Workstaion.rar

Hey neozenkai -

I've got a CoolerMaster Centurion 5 case too, and I hate the damn thing. Heavy, big, noisy stock fans that don't push much air. Had to buy a cheap case because I didn't want my dumbass little brother short-circuiting my setup (because the parts of the operational PC was laid out all over the desk)... what's your experience with the case?

You'll be raking in the money later on though, with seniority comes exponentially higher pay in education. I think my 20 year Calculus teacher made a little over 75k with coaching 2 sports and summer school.

I like it, square is just boring. ;)

1) When I was figuring out where to screw in the mobo standoffs, I had to super-impose my mobo over the mounting plate, then use a Sharpie to mark off the mounting holes because the manual didn't tell me shit.

2) The tool-less hard drive rack was a tight fit on my hard drive. Whenever I stick my hard drive into the drive after fooling around with it, I have to literally slam it in to get the damn thing to fit in the bay. Sends a shiver down my spine every time I hear that loud "bang" emanating from the case...

3) While the fans that come with the case aren't that loud, it makes an irritating scratchy noise, and it doesn't push a lot of air.

4) Perforated bezel f*cks up airflow

5) Thing has more depth than the last case I owned

6) Thing is a heavy mofo.

speaking of the Cent 5, have you figured out what the hell that wierd-ass ring thingy that comes with the case is? Because I haven't...

on topic: I don't care whether some of the pics here feature a Dell, every workstation here kicks ass IMO.

Ennnnjoy :D

1. average 50k/year job
2. Single
3. No kids

I qualify for all three of those, and I can't afford half the crap i see people posting up in here. Multiple 2405's, large TVs, nice headphones, surround setups... you people must be over your heads in debt lol. Either that or live with your parents.

It depends on your location, what your dwelling is like, your vehicle and other small things. My brother's still driving a 99 Saturn he's had for 5 years and lives in a fairly nice apartment (800 a month) in Indianapolis and he's able to do almost anything he wants with his paycheck and doesn't owe any money for college or have a credit card.

Income: 50,000

Expenses
12,000 Rent (1,000 month, 12 months)
9,171 Tax (18.3%, 2005 table)
9,125 Food (25 per day, 365 days)
10,000 Misc (Insurance, maintaining, other bills)
40,296 Total Expenses

9,704 for "mad" money
