Although not tech related we may have a few riders here. This is not a garage queen but rather a VERY fast bike that was ridden every chance i could get. It also was my first bike. It's time someone else enjoys it as much as i did.

Here's the deal...I'm pretty much forcing myself to sell the bike. I want to put myself in a better financial position in life and get my bearings straight for the first time in a long time. The Busa was fun and i WILL have another bike...just not right now...
THE DETAILS:

2006
83xx miles
Was the fac tory black/grey metallic - Now is Primarily Sunburst Orange metallic and needs paint job finished

I have the seat somewhere & the grab bar is also here. the Solo seat cowl is notched for grab bar clearance.

I will not lie about the bike's history. The bike was tipped over on each side within a week or two of ownership because it was my VERY FIRST BIKE. Mirrors are scratched up as a result and the black clutch cover does have some marks on it. Also it was down in a small accident on November 6th, 2008 that resulted in ONLY PLASTICS DAMAGE and all damage sanded out in prep work for the Sunburst Orange Metallic partial paintjob. I also replaced the front turn signals with smoked ones. THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE DONE TO THE BIKE. Currently the front fender & tail section are stock, the solo cowl is blue, and the sides/tank/upper are all orange. paint just needs to be completed...It has scratches & marks from regular riding and is not perfect. A Wet Buff would go a long way toward fixing most of that in the orange...It was a daily rider when the weather was good enough to do so...she wasn't a garage queen...

MODS:

5 position dogbones - currently set at 2" lower in the rear

Lowering Strap for front forks

Custom Kickstand - it has 2 points on it and could use a 3rd. It was modified to allow the bike to lean while completely slammed to the pavement. at 2" under it's "adequate" - at stock height it really needs a position in the middle for optimum lean. this can be accomplished by drilling the stand and adding another adjustment hole.

Brock's Streetsmart Full Exhaust - Exhaust was received from a forum member and was heavily damaged. I repaired header tubes 2 & 3 by cutting out the bottom half of each tube and welding in new stainless steel. The muffler also had a hole which was patched with a metal fill compound. Exhaust works as new and shows in the trap speeds.

Small Box Mod

PCIII w/Brock's Map

BoostBySmith ECU Nitrous Harness

Bike is setup for ECU flashing

Flashed with revised timing tables & enabled flapper solenoid for NOS use

BOTTLE IS NOT INSTALLED! - Power wire needs hooked up for harness to fully function. Activation Switch & pins for your solenoid will be included

I have installed the 4"+ swingarm with help from wildphil. It turned out great.

I used a EK DR2 non-oring chain

Also has new 43T rear sprocket on it.

SPEEDOHEALER NOT INSTALLED!

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:

Front Tire - about gone - rear is a Pilot Power 2CT with about 2k on it. still looks to have a TON of life left.

Fork Seals - just discovered this a couple days ago & haven't had time to get an estimate on repair.

I HAVE BOTH OF THESE NEW AND READY TO GO ON THE BIKE. Tire is matching Pilot Power 2CT and seals are NEW OEM from Schnitz Racing. If purchased before installation they will go with bike.

WHAT WILL GO WITH BIKE:

about 8-9qts of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 10w40 4T Racing Oil for Motorcycles - this is ALL i have run in the bike since day 1 - it's GREAT STUFF!

My ECU Flashing harness - it's custom made...without it you're gonna be pretty screwed.

Anything else HAYABUSA related i can find.

GL with sale.

Hmn fork seals leaking after only 8k miles? Did you change the oil in there?

Brocks exhaust? Why does the picture have a Hindle pipe?

fork seals are likely leaving due to drag racing. i run a front strap to compress the forks to minimize wheelies. this likely resulted in shortened life.

It's a Brock StreetSmart System. His primary manufacturer was Hindle. It was bought 2nd hand and repaired due to damaged 2 & 3 Primaries.

I don't think it's too beat up...it does have a lot of "first bike" rash but i've done my best to repair and minimize this. I just need to move on at this point in my life and let someone else enjoy it. all it really needs is a little further TLC and it would be a top dollar machine again.

I know how ya feel :)

My first bike was tipped over to left and right twice in the first week (thank god for frame sliders, no damage) and actually highsided it on a high speed sweeper at around 3k miles.

Ah well, it still rides fine though.

Bike is located in Bradford, PA where i live. Title is held by a local bank. A FTF sale would take 10min of our time to do.

Crazy first bike? maybe. It's heavy...that was the only downfall at first. once i learned how to swing the weight around it was no worse than any other bike. The power is SUPER SMOOTH and full on from idle to redline but really picks up from about 6k on...I intended to do the intake cam mod w/ base gasket removal but never got around to it...

Bike is plenty as it sits. I would like to turbo one someday but i have other life goals that are more important in the short term.

There are definitely worse ways to get yourself killed on the interstate :) That's why I don't and probably never will own a sports bike. I like speed a little too much. I'd get careless, and then get dead. lol. And that's just no bueno.

Busa Bump!

bump for awesome first bike (mine was a GSXR750 which also suffered from some noob lay downs)
Note: Highly advise against getting a sportbike as a first bike.

Always wear gear!

Good luck with the sale. Glad to hear you're alive! My first was an old Suzuki GS500 with 1/4 the power of that beast.

Always wear gear!

this. i have full leathers and a SNELL helmet plus full gloves/boots for racing. 75% of that gets worn on the street too. It will save you someday.

As for the power...the last dyno i have was on stock header, small mod, and no mufflers (straight pipes). it put down 164.8hp in that form. it should be close to 170whp now. claimed dry weight is something like 478lbs.

That really is a crazy first bike..... I roadraced for years and still see little need for a bike like that. Nothing wrong with starting on a sports bike, just start small- 500-650cc.

My first bike was a honda 200cc Twinstar....Lame!

But we survived each other and a few newbie mistakes. Just cost a lot less to fix!

Nice machine good luck with the sale bump!

good luck with the sale. I have to agree and say you have some balls to ride a busa as a first bike.

meh. it was easier to learn to modulate the clutch as it makes so much low end power i never really had to rev it to leave a light or anything. MUCH better driveability than a 600/750 would've been...

plus it's only as deadly as the rider is stupid...

bump

Id rather wheelie on a 600/liter bike. But Busa's are something else on the straight!

Free bump

ttt

"something else" doesn't begin to describe the rush. It's truly something else when it's stock and a whole new animal when you start to tear into it like i have...it's deserving of it's own shrine...

I'm happy with my tiny SV650

I can break all speed limits in second gear, good enough for me.

oh and bump

The high low end power is why 1000cc plus sport bikes are ironically better street bikes than the lower cc counter parts. On the other hand, 600cc sport bikes are more suited for the track.

But with a 1000cc plus bike you don't even need to leave first gear :D
