I have an old Fortran 500W PSU. It has been running my Q9660,HD4770,5 HDD's, OC to 3.6ghz for several years with absolute stability. It is a dual rail type.

Should I upgrade the powersupply if I build a SB system?
 
If you do a straight motherboard and CPU upgrade, it should be fine. If you upgrade your video card as well, I would recommend a new PSU.
