Why is the price so high right now? I have never seen it this high in the couple of months that I have been looking at it.

Ha, you think you guys have it bad, try getting one of these for cheap in canada.. With the exchange rate considered, you guys routinely have this display for literally HUNDREDS of dollars cheaper than we do.

It makes no sense at all. None.

It's $499 at dell.com right now. That's uber cheap... I'm still waiting for another good coupon code to show up.

For some reason the price for the 2005FPW is at $699.99 thats why I made this thread.

well, that is retail after all... are they not allowed to sell it for the retail price?

Everyone has just gotten so used to dell cutting the prices all the time that the retail price seems astronomical... im sure if you wait a week or two you will have plenty of chances to get it for much cheaper....

You know I got it 3 weeks ago for 380$ + Free Shipping because I was in the Military when the Price was listed for 520 or something.

So... Maybe you should call them and work a deal.

I want it to be cheapter too, i want a 2nd one :)

I also paid $380 USD shipped (next day air) for mine by calling their business section.

You really just need to haggle.

$380 shipped appears to be the lowest they are going for these days.

I haggle too but to no avail. I was able to got mine for 479.86 with next day shipping. I must have called like 5 reps in the business and the home section. They say they couldn't go any lower.

I just thought it was weird that one day it was $499.99. Then it goes up to $699.99. I hope it goes down when I want to get it.

I got in on the two coupon deal several weeks ago and landed one for $380 w/free shipping. I told some geek friends about it the next day and the coupons were invalid. Several days later they worked again....Dell is strange sometimes :p

I made a new post, cause I didn't see this one... but... where's the best place to look for coupons/bargains?

I've been using pricegrabber.com a lot lately to find decent prices on computer stuff-- what sites do you guys recommend?

they will get posted in the hot deals subforum if you want to find out about them... that or the fatwallet forum...

either way, keep your eyes peeled in the hot deals subforum and you will know when you can get good coupons...

Second post in that thread.

I got both of mine for $389 (not including the 3% for fatwallet fatcash) a month ago, at the end of quarter.

I'm serious, everyone debating on an LCD needs to stop their internal pontificating and just give in...it's 100% worth it. If you don't like it Dell has a 21 day no hassle return policy...you honestly have nothing to lose other than a great price on an awesome display (or two).

I wouldn't pay that much for this crappy monitor. Unless you don't care about backlight leakage, this monitor is horrible. Whenever I watch a dark movie, it's like someone's shining a flashlight on the screen. I'm on my 2nd replacement (3rd monitor) and it still has these problems.

If this were $300 dollars, I'd accept the problems it has, but for $400? Not worth it.

my 2005FPW is flawless. Not even a stuck pixel

Wow, I wish I were as lucky as you. I say don't take the risk if you are shelling out that much money. The stuck pixel on my screen doesn't even bother me, but the leakage is ridiculous.
