Hi,

So I just got a 360 and I have it hooked up to my 2005FPW via the HD VGA cable.

I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer for me.

1) Is running at 1280x720 actually 720p mode?

2) Should I have to use the aspect/fill options on my monitor to get it to fill up the whole, or most of the screen in 1280x720? If I don't use them it only displays in a fairly small box in the middle of the monitor.
 
Yeah, 1280x720 is 720p.

I'm not sure about your other question (I don't own a 2005FPW). But I think you should run at 1280x768 instead.

How's the color with the VGA cable? Any washing out?
 
Ah yes.. thanks. 1280x768 gets rid of a bit of black on the right side of the screen.

I haven't noticed any washout of colours. Just tried ghost recon and it looked amazing!!
 
I was thinking of doing the same thing with my 360*, My only question was tho. How or what are you using for sound?
