Ok i got real close to my monitor today and I can see little black bars going down the screen. Am I supposed to see those?

Are you using vga or dvi

I saw a post similar to this on the dELL forums and the answer was the usual ... reset with osd, make sure everything is connected well, and if using vga try the auto setup
 
Alright, I think its my power strip that I am using. Its an RCA and its pretty old. Can anyone recommend a good one?
 
Alright I just used a VGA cable on a laptop and I saw no scan lines. Does that mean its the DVI cable or the DVI port? Where can I get a new DVI cable?

Call Dell, tell them it's fubared and they'll ship one out to you to replace it. If that one's good, then you're done. 21 day total satisfaction policy or whatever it's called.
 
I read somewhere that if you change the frequency in the nvidia drivers from 119 MHz to 146 MHz it will make the lines go away. My option in the drivers was set on CVT-Reduced Blanking at 119 MHz so I changed it to CVT standard at 146 MHz and the lines went away. What is Reduced Blanking and am I loosing performance doing this?

Would you still return it? Or will I get this on every one I get?
