anyone ever had image burn in problems with this monitor?

I was under the impression that lcd's didnt suffer the same burn in problems as crt's, and that the problem was severly lessened in more recent crt's....

but my friend seems to be experiencing some burn in issues... any help is appreciated
 
I also believe LCDs don't suffer from any type of burn in. Chances are you're seeing what's known as "image persistance" where the pixels of an image get sort of stuck, and they can't display colors as accurately as a more well exercised pixel. It sounds exactly like the definition of burn in, but its not permanent. I sometimes see the outline of the start menu or a toolbar on my 2005fpw, especially if I try to display something like a solid 50% grey screen. You can get rid of stubborn pixels by having them display something else for a while, preferably moving, or else a solid white screen will work too.
