2001FP Screen Door Effect and GLASSES

I was just wondering if there is a correlation between people who can see the screen door effect on the DELL 2001fp also wears glasses and is nearsighted?

I am nearsighted, and I can see the individual pixels on my CRT at 2 feet away if I look for it, but otherwise I tend to focus out of the range.

If you can see the screen door effect, please state if you wear glasses. Maybe we can get some data on this.
 
Interesting you should point that out. I find that with real "glass" glasses everything is just fine, but with the newer plastic lenses I have found some interesting issues.

Depending on the material your lens is made from you will see different things. On a lot of lenses if you keep your eyes on the center of the screen while turning your head you might just experience a “prism” effect, actually splitting the colors making your monitor and or TV appear to be out of convergence.

If you’re an old guy, like me, and wear Tri or Bifocals the problem becomes worse, and if you wear them as “blended” lenses it’s horrible.

When setting up a High Def TV or Monitor (CRT or LCD or Plasma) I have to be really careful to use only the center of my lens, not the sides. Since glass glasses are all but impossible to get these days it does create a real problem

If you look at your lenses in the right light (assuming you have another pair to wear ;) ) you can actually see the grain of the lenses, usually almost microscopic vertical lines in the surface. Acrylic and polycarbonate are both used in lenses and react very differently when you look at a converged picture from a multi color source, LCD, Plasma etc. DLP is reflected from one (theoretical) surface and you won’t notice the effect near as much.

I dont normally wear glasses and I could see it. It bugged me so much i sent the 2001 fp back. ( in may).

My vision is something like 20/70 I only need glasses to read text from a distance (eg chalk board) otherwise i dont wear them. However i gave it a shot to see what would happen. With my glasses on I did notice it less than with out, but it still bugged me.
 
I don't wear glasses or contacts and neither does my brother and we could both see it pretty easily. Unless my screen was just really bad, I don't see how anyone could overlook it.
