2001FP resolution 1280x960?

Any way to get my 2001FP monitor to have a resolution of 1280x960 w/o Powerstrip? The reason is its a better Ratio than 1280x1024 ... i mean the latter is not 4:3 but the former is 4:3, so the interpolation should be better and add a minimal relieve to graphic intense games in theory .. well very minimal :D!
 
Yes, and its quite nice. Due to a bug that's likely caused by an old video card, I have to use 1280x960 on my VP201 (same panel as 2001FP). With the larger DPI and Cleartype, some of the text is a flawed. However I assure you its good, in both windows and games.
 
Oops, are you saying you have the monitor but cant use that resolution? If so, I dont know what to say...I use XP, and all "official" resolutions are available in the display properties.
 
Yeah, I don't understand what you need either. 1280x960 is an option for me, too. Does your video card not support it?
 
I guess what I am saying is when I use the INF file for the Dell 2001FP monitor it doesnt give me the 1280x960 resolution. I only get it if I create it through PowerStrip OR the NVidia Forceware drivers. I dont understand why it has 1280x1024 but not 1280x960 when it is a 4:3 Monitor. It works fine with it forced through the driver, but I would think they would add it to the INF file Monitor Driver so that would not be necessary.

I guess that is what I was saying. And I have a 6800Ultra, so It does do 1280x960, it has to be the Monitor Driver that took that away. :(
 
I have only one thought.

When I installed my 2001FP driver, I found the INF on the driver CD manually and XP gave me two options: 2001fp Analog and 2001fp Digital. Do you remember seeing such a choice? Take a look - maybe you have analog selected.

edit: And I assume you are using DVI input.
 
id make it digital, way better detail in gaming and stuff related to gaming....videos, etc.
