2001fp composite input 50hz/60hz?

I'm running a PAL gamecube into the composite input of a UK Dell 2001fp but unfortunately it only seems to be set to only support a 50hz signal. When I try to run a game at 60hz (they usually run much better at 60hz than at 50hz) it appears all broken up and very slow framerate.

In the on-screen monitor set up it says ""50Hz" so I'm guessing that UK monitors are set up to only support 50hz when using the composite input.

Does anyone know how to change this to 60Hz? I presume that they wouldn't go to the trouble of making 2 models of monitor..... one for NTSC and one for PAL.

Alternatively I would love to be able to connect my cube up to the D-SUB input. Anyone know what kind of cable I would need to do this with a PAL cube and even whether it is possible??
