1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming (FPS, RPG, RTS), Web Surfing.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?Around $2000 if needed I will go up to $2200. Yes, Yes. ( I can squeeze in a little more for tax and shipping)
3) Where do you live? NY, Queens
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? Everything (Monitor, OS, KB/M)
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? No
6) Will you be overclocking? Light overclocking.
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have? I plan to have a 1920x1200 (Should have HDMI for PS3, 360)
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Before August
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? Nothing too special maybe just Crossfire, SLI support (I doubt I'll Crossfire or SLI
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? No

Here is what I've come up with so far

I7 920, Asus P6T SE
HIS 4890, OCZ Platinum 6GB DDR3 1600
Vista 64Bit, WD 640GB 32Mb Cache
Xigmatek Dark Knight
Samsung Optical

I don't know what case to look for, I want a case that has good air flow and has dust filters.

I'm sure a Corsair 650-750W PSU will do? I don't know if I want to crossfire, I really doubt I will need it.

I don't know much about LCD monitors, A lot of people say TN Panels aren't good and others say IPS Panels are bad for gaming due to input lag?
I just want a Monitor for gaming and to use a PS3, 360 on. If it doesn't have speakers I'll get something temporarily unless I can squeeze in the Z-5500's.

I was thinking Logitech G15 and G9 for KB/M? Maybe Razer products?

I'm not sure about the MoBo it has everything I want at a cheap affordable price.

A friend reccomended the OCZ Platinum.

Any suggestions appreciated :)

Awesome, I love the overall look of the case and PSU is good enough for me :)

I don't know about the LG 1080p HDTV, I really wanted a 1920 x 1200 LCD Monitor as I already have a 720p HDTV in the living room.

Good 24" IPS cost the same as 32" 1080p TV. Is 120 pixels worth 8" of display?

I would suggest going to your local computer store and take look at TN and IPS. Too see how they look for you.

I just got back and I checked out both a TN Panel Monitor and IPS monitor, I only noticed IPS has good viewing angles. Since I will be sitting in front of the monitor and I will be the only one using it I think a TN Panel is best suited for me.

IPS has much more life like colors than a TN panel which often has very bland coloring. It took me about an hour of testing to really notice major differences. TN monitors are the lowest tier monitors you can get. Also, z-5500s are bad speakers.

Personally, if I had 2000$ for a brand new PC I'd spend around 500-600 on the monitor(24"...why you would want a 30" 1920x1080 monitor is beyond me...) and the rest on decent 5.1 speakers. With the total being around 1000$ for the output devices.

Alright I'll go for a nice 24" but what would you recommend? I'll go for IPS if its really worth the cash.
I've heard good things about the Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP.

For 5.1 speakers will G51's be good? They are pretty cheap and look decent.

G51s are worse than the Z-5500s. Good speakers arn't cheap. You can get a decent 2.0 setup for ~100$ but a 5.1 system is going to cost more.
Ask the audio forums to build you a 5.1 speaker system for 300-400$.
PX2611W -> DS-265W -> LP2475w I think these are your best choices.

Well he does have 2000$ to blow...why not get some quality products?

Not rich, I worked really hard saving up for this stuff so I wanna get the most out of it now.
I guess I will go with 2.0's as of right now.

I'll take a look at all the monitors you suggested.

EDIT: Took a look at the monitors, I liked the HP LP2475w and was wondering if it will have any problems with a PS3 via hdmi? Other than that it looks pretty awesome!

Also,
DS-265W for 460$
Might be a good deal...no HDMI input but you can do something about that maybe. I'll leave that for you to find out.

EDIT: Actually, says it does...anyway you can find out on your own.

The AV-40s are often recommended in the Computer Audio forum. But it won't hurt to take a visit there. (Just search for 2.0 or something similar... that question has been asked several times there.)

I would say AV-40s also considering that I have one myself. But, don't buy them from NewEgg for $150. Buy it from Provantage.com for $119.78

As far as the monitor goes, I will back Joseph on this one. Heh, with $2,000 budget a good 24" monitor is justifiable. You can easily put a solid Core i7 build for $1,000-$1,1000 with a $500 monitor and good 2.0 speakers. You still won't come close to $2,000.00. I personally do spend the money for a better monitor because I want the images to look good. I can tell the difference between an 8 bit IPS, P-MVA or S-PVA panel vs a 6 bit TN panel. The obvious is the viewing anlge of course. Also, when it comes to darks scenes in games, you can also see that a TN panel can't really display the blacks as well as the 8 bit panel. I can even notice the difference just on hardforum.com website hehe. What does irritate me also on TN panels is the backlight bleeding on the upper and lower parts of the screen. I had to return my HP W2207H monitor to Best Buy because the first one had bad backlight bleeding. Fortunately the second one was alot better.

The HP LP2475w has HDMI inputs but, the part I am not quite sure is whether it has 1:1 pixel mapping. This way, when you hookup a PS3 or Xbox 360 the images are not stretched to the 16:10 aspect ratio. A quick read on the HPLP2475 in the display forum will verify this. That's one advantage though of a 16:9 1080P resolution monitor, you don't have to worry about stretching the images when you have a game console hooked up to it.

Wow that's a awesome deal at provantage, I'll get them tomorrow morning for sure!

I don't know a lot of monitors so yeah, I guess IPS is good, I'm curious if it will be good for some light photoshopping?

The i7s are good CPUs but I just don't see the point of getting them if you are just gaming. The AMD build is like 1/2 the cost and will give you the same performance while gaming with a single graphics card.

This is one area where the 8 bit IPS panel will shine in Photo editing. You don't want color shifts when displaying your photos on a display. Plus, 6 bit tn panels can't display the full 16.7 million colors like an 8 bit panel. Newer 6 bit panels use a technology called dithering to trick the human eye into appearing that it does.

Thanks for the info Guru :)
I'm just starting in Photoshop so this will be perfect, I'm glad I got the suggestion on the display I was originally planning to get a 28in Hanns G.

Don't get the Hanns 28" I know it may be a deal for that size but, as you can see in my sig, mine crapped out in less than 6 months. Plus, at 27.5 viewable, you really notice the limited viewing especially vertically. Plus, I notice over the past months I had it, it's like the colors got a little washed out as time past.

Thanks for the info Guru :)
