can i just splice the extra 4 pin connector thats needed? i have extras from molex psu's its for a matx case so dont really want the extra wires of adapter or to wait for it..

Don't see why not, but be careful with your solder-points. Most likely, those extra wires willy carry a relatively high amperage.

You obviously accept that this is a permanent modification to your PSU, and requires some extensive care.

As an alternative..............20pin PSU's key into 24pin mobo's without modification and there are commercial products available..cheaply.

so your talking about a 20 to 24 adapter? i just dont want the xtra wires of a adapter to stick up 2+" more.. i tested the mobo/cpu with diff psu for now and i can order the 24pin adapter.. was a openbox from newegg so wanted to get it booted.. would rather permanently mod the psu tho
