2 Video Cards non SLI - PROBLEM

Hey everyone...can use your help as I'm stumped at this point.

I'm trying to run 2 video cards simultaneously, non SLI, to accomplish a 3rd monitor added to my current dual setup. The primary card is a 9800gtx and the 2nd card is a 7800gt. When I installed the card, the device manager sees it no problem but it seems to be sharing the drivers from the previous card. Any time I enable the 2nd card I get a blue screen. The NVIDIA driver page indicates that these cards use the same drivers so I'm not sure how to go about running these together. There's obviously a conflict.... or user error. I tried completely wiping out my drivers and reinstalling but it only prompted me to install once and both cards seem to be sharing the drivers.

7800 GT
Windows 7

Any ideas?
 
As far as I know, they have the be the same generation (or at least use the same drivers).
 
They do not need to be the same gen, I'm running a GTX275 and 9500GT no problems.
 
Nvidia lists the same driver for both cards. My PSU is 620w so I don't believe that's the issue. The only way I can get the 7800gt to function is if I remove the 9800GTX.

My combination is GTS 250 and GT 240 and no problem so far. I have not done 3 monitor yet. Thats coming soon It works fine on my W7 x64.

Saedrin - I picked up a PCI card with equivalent shaders, DX, and WDDM and all 3 monitors are now successfully viewed. Now my new issue is the Windows 7 Aero being disabled any time I plug in a 3rd monitor. Are you successfully running Aero on windows 7 with your setup?
