2 SMT Prescott?

I was looking at some benches in sandrasoft and it shows 2 types of 3.0Es. One shows up with [2 SMT] and the other without it, the performance difference between both are very clear. What makes them different and how can I tell which type I have. Here is a pictar of my prescott if its any help.

i think the difference in the benchies is one is benched with hyperthreading and the other is benched without hyperthreading.

your cpu is hyperthreading capable and can be set on/off in bios.

SMT = Symmetric Multi-Threading or something close to that

Oh ok that would make alot of sense then. Then wow having hyperthreading on does make A HUGE difference. Nearly doubled the bench score versus having it turned off.

You have to take these benchmarks with a grain of salt. Yes, HT is going to be a lot smoother and better while multitasking, but I doubt you're going to see a 100% difference in performance in real world usage.

Yeah. Expecially in gaming you won't really see large differences.

However, given that HT CPUs are the norm these days, there's no reason not to get one.
