I have an HT p4 , is smp client or regular better?

and can I download the new gui for updated graphics yet? it looks sweet
 
I would use the console client... but no SMP.

You can also use the graphical version if you like, but turn off the eye candy.

Don't use IE setting to connect to the internet.

What model P4? The P4s with 2MB of cache can actually hit SMP deadlines if they fold 24/7. I have a P4 650 (3.4 GHz, 2MB) here but I can't put SMP on it because I don't have admin privileges.

BTW, I'd skip the fancy new graphical clients. All they do is slow down your machine with unnecessary glitz.

 
why not use IE settings for internet connection?

my other box is a 2.7 opty 170, can that make the smp deadlines folding 24/7 with me doing some music listening/web browsing/aim on it during the day?
