2 Pump Systems

Now that I have a new AC pump and controller on the way... I am curious how many of you use two pumps as I am kicking around the idea of utilizing both pumps in my system.

1. How much benefit can I expect if any?
2. Best placement?
3. Any other pro's and con's

Current configuration:

Aquatube - Aquastream - EVO 240 - CPU - NB - EVO 160 - GPU - GPU- Aquatube

Which GPU's, CPU, and MB?

However, in general I would say that put the GPU's on one loop. The CPU and NB on the other loop. You can use the same reservoir if you use a Y fitting or add another Aquatube assumiong you have a V2000 case.

Damn, seeker is beating me to it everytime

Here's my plan:

Exos 2 -> CPU -> NB -> GPU -> GPU ->2nd Pump -> BI Dual 80mm Rad -> 5 HD -> Exos2

If anything, 2 pumps would put less strain on your first loop so I dont think it would have any problems.

TN, You know my setup, V2000 case, Cuplex XT, Twinplex NB, 2 Twinplex GPU coolers, EVO 240 & EVO 160.

I did, but no one else did ;)

I think I would run the GPU's through the 240 and the CPU and NB through the 160. The GPU's usually put out more heat than the CPU does. I think you have the 240 in the top and the 160 above the PSU correct? With your case you can also fit in a BI Pro 120mm inbetween the front HDD rack and the front bottom of case using the front fan to cool the radiator. :D

Dual loop is the only way to go...................... :p

Those UFO cases are so nice!!!, gotta love having so much room to work w/

ok back on topic. Duel loop

I would do a dual loop.

Loop 1 - CPU & NB

Loop 2 - Dual 6800's

This will leave you some room to add some hard drive coolers. My Raptor is now running at a cool 32c with an AC MicroDrive.

The next question is where to mount the second res?

You can use the same rez, just make it large and have 2 inlets and outlets or you can use "Y" fittings, but that will reduce flow a bit.

Home made 40 oz rez, plenty large enough for 2 loops.

I have one res in an AquaBay and one top mounted in front of my EVO240 grill. Since you have a V2000, you could put a res in the separation betweent the top chamber and bottom chamber. I'm sure TN will provide pics of this done!

I would like to see that.

you guys are talking about having duel reservoirs and frankly i don't see the point because you don't even really need one, I would personally opt for more radiators insted of more reserviors

You need a T-line or Res in any loop. If you think it's not needed then you know nothing about water cooling.

You'd need a reservoire to minimize the pressure differential no?
