2 Prong plug from front temp gauge

My case, aspire x-dreamer, has a 2 prong plug, much like the normal fan plug (minus one metal pin). The problem is that because it is smaller, the normal fan plugs on the motherboard will not fit it.

Where can i plug this in?
 
I don't think the temp guage plugs in to the fan plug on the mobo. Maybe you are missing something or maybe I am just wrong, always a possibility. ;)

 
I looked at the manual and there was no 2 prong plug for temp sensor, only standard molex and a temp probe. :confused:

 
did you get the 2 prong to molex connector in he case, if not, return it, or contact aspire
 
doesn't the two-prong plug actually plug into the case itself, like the front bezel, and is powered from that? maybe it just wiggled loose in shipping.
 
oh, lol. i was readin' it wrong. i gotcha now, thanks. in that case, OP, you can most likely buff or slice down the offending ridge of plastic, and plug it into your mobo. i've done this with a 2-wire fan so that it would snug down on the connector.

i know, but i was guessing that it uses the same type of end-connector (like the OP says, it's a 2-pin plug that looks like a standard 3-pin plug). so if it's just a matter of the piece not being able to plug into his mobo, and he doesn't have the molex adapter, he can just cut or smooth down the offending ridge that's preventing him from plugging it into the mobo.

Its an AMP connector, not a Molex connector, you will have to modify it slightly to get it to fit. but they shouldnt be using those on that product for that purpose.
 
ive had this case for a little over 2 years now, and when i originally set up my rig, it had it plugged in, but that was 2 motherboards ago. Now i dont remember if i had it plugged directly into the motherboard, or if the case actually came with an adapter.

is a standard fan not 5v? Could i file it down and secure with electrical tape?
