2 pin fans?

I recieved an email from Sigma on a question i had about their 5 fans that come with the Windstorm case. They said all the fans use a basic 2-pin connector and have no speed control.

I'm partial to 3-pin and have never used a 2-pin. Does this mean that even with the use of a fan controller, you can't control speed?

And it's still useable on a 3-pin mobo connector correct?

The third pin is only for RPM monitoring so in all other regards they will be fine for speed control and/or connection to a MB three pin.

Hopefully the fans that come with the case have a standard 3-pin female connector on the end instead of a 2-pin connector that I've seen on some fans. Otherwise you may need to mod them out to securely attach them to the mobo.

It looks like most of the fans use the 4 pin Molex connectors that come off the PSU not the MB. While they have two wires they still use the 4 pin connectors.

Yea i noticed that as well, thats why i sent them the email because it looked like they ONLY had molex connectors. This is the reply that Sigma sent me:

They will come with the basic 2 pin fan. These fans will not have speed
detection.
