2 or 8MB buffer? (Video File Storage)

I may be getting a new hard drive soon and It will only be used for some video storage.

Will the Buffer make a difference when just storing that? It sure makes a price difference.
 
hmmm... For general video storage it wouldn't matter too much. Video editing might be a different story.
 
a ATA66 5400rpm HDD would probably suffice if the files are contiguous :p
the 8mb cache is certainly not required
that said are you sure thats what these HDDs will always be doing?

2mb caches are just fine for "storage" ;)
 
I incline to agree... If the files are not frequently access, paying for a larger disk cache is probably not worth the money. :)
