tried the last beta, the world is nice but the gameplay sucked, it felt like racing through load of one liner quests just to get to.... another load of one liner quests to race through..., and my crossfire didn't work with it, i don't think ill be buying this

I am totally waiting to try it out, Just waiting for it to go free to play. I learned my lessons on all other MMO's.

Did the beta , have been watching live streams..

Do people who develop these kinds of games really think brown is the only color in existence? The entire game is shit brown almost everywhere you go.

From what I've seen of the live streams I'm not impressed. Looks very boring and DULL. The PVP even looks boring.

My fears from the beta have pretty much been confirmed.

I think brown requires less polygons and textures than green.

Green = grass, and MMOs are made for the lowest hardware possible.

It really isn't true to the elder-scrolls experience at all IMO.

What about it isn't true? Is it remotely close to the experience at all?

Its bland , the quest structure is very ridged and the PVP looks quite unfinished and boring. There isn't anything about it that sets it apart from other MMO's.

The crafting system is about the deepest part of the game. It has no dragons (different time line) which is dumb because Skyrim has practically made Dragons a requirement for future ES games.

It wasn't created by the original ES developers so it doesn't have any of the feel to it that ES games do. It feels (at least during beta) like an SP game stretched into an MMO but not in a good way.

Add to the fact that it has a $15 a month subscription in a world of MMO's that are mostly F2P and you really don't have a lot of good reasons to play it other than hype and brief but current interest.

Those are the flaws I see with it right now.

It reminds me of a by the numbers MMO (read: generic) but tied to a well loved franchise. Seymour's prediction is that it will do well initially, but then fizzle within the next few weeks then go f2p by fall.

Sorta like SW:TOR.

It's more the community that's the problem. The attitude seems to be: Dull colors = "hardcore" grimdark, Bright colors = must be a Disney movie.

Ok I'm going to bite. It isn't bland and your complaint about it being all brown couldn't be farther from the truth. The environments range from deserts, to lush forests and jungles, to dreary swamps, and to the snow capped peaks found in Skyrim.

I don't know what you mean by a ridged, maybe you meant rigid, quest system. Quests by there very nature are rigid, but the ones here in ESO are fluid and engaging. By this I mean the vast majority of the quests have some interaction within the world that either encourages exploration or ties in with the lore some how. None of this go kill me 50 swamp rats to find 5 swamp rat tails to cure my crotch rot. As far as not being anything different from other MMOs I guess your right if you overlook the 100% voice acted quests, the 3 way PvP, full destructible sieges ala Shadowbane with goal oriented RvR pvp ala DAoC, the ability to play as a vampire or werewolf, PvP dungeons, and others. Oh sure others have done most of this but really never in the same game. Might it be too ambitious, perhaps, maybe that is why they went for a more refined generic feel to the core game so that the fringe elements will all have something to do without really neglecting a particular population segment of the game. Raiders will get their dungeons, PvP'ers will get their zones, Open world PvP'ers will get theirs, and the casual and role players will still have their zones all neatly compartmentalized without treading on the others.

The crafting system is about the deepest part of the game.

Meh, I'm not much of a crafter but it does seem deep and complex but at the same time easy enough to get into. Hopefully the guild shops will eventually morph into or encourage player shops to become viable as well. There are several guilds trying to set up shop to become the main trading guilds in the game, so if all you want to do is craft you can and crafting encourages the use of buddies and friends in game to enhance your crafting skills.

It has no dragons (different time line) which is dumb because Skyrim has practically made Dragons a requirement for future ES games.

There are dragons and several quest lines relating to dragons; however, there aren't dragons flying all over like in Skyrim.

No but they've kept a vast amount of lore from Daggerfall, Morrowwind, Oblivion, and Skyrim and the game plays pretty damn close to Skyrim. The sounds, recipes, character traits, quest icons and structure are all very familiar to previous Elder Scroll players. You can play it as a SP game if you want and call in group help if you need it for open world events or a open world boss wandering around, ala Rift or Defiance.

I agree with this and is one of the main reasons I wasn't going to pick it up. But considering it isn't uncommon to drop $30 a month into WoT I figured what the hell lets give it a try and if anything they'll go F2P and give the subscribers monthly perks similar to every other MMO which failed to keep a subscription base.

I'm down like Charlie Brown, when they get rid of the horrible sub requirement.

My lvl 15 tank :)
