2 monitors with powerpoint problem

I have a dual monitor setup and can run a powerpoint presentation on the second monitor in a a continuous loop (kiosk mode) without any problems. However, as soon as i do anything on the main screen such as use any other programs besides powerpoint the presentation will pause on the second monitor. Is there any way to get powerpoint to run a presentation on the second monitor while I use other programs on the main monitor?
