All i want to do is have 2 monitors and use my tv for movies...

I am fed up with amd drivers and microstutter on this 5870 and was looking to switch back to nvidia, but after some research I found out they don't support 3 monitors on a single card.

They also don't do SLI and a 3rd monitor? Id have to disable SLI to use the tv? So much different information out there.

If you just wanted three monitors with no interest in surround gaming, you could get two different nvidia cards and use those together. The first card handles everything while the second nvidia card (something meager like an 8400gs or a gts 250) just handles the actual outputting to the third monitor. Doesn't working for surround gaming, but it may work for your setup, where you're wanting to watch movies on the tv itself in the setup.
