Im curious to know if there is a way to do this..

I have 2 monitors side by side.. but i want them to either have 2 different wall papers, or one really long one.. the choice of words they use when adding a second monitor and enabling it, they say SPAN windows onto this monitor.. but it doesnt actually span a wallpaper, it just doubles it..

any help would be much appreciated..

get a program called ultramon. it does everything you'll probably want for a dual setup.

Every single Nvidia card I've owned and built a computer with, when in span mode, the wallpaper spans as well.

misterE.. i love you.. that program is EXACTLY what ive been looking for.. Thanks a ton

I always just set it to diplay web content and used a different wallpaper for the primary monitor.

The extra features of this program are nice and they dont get in the way of anything.. if you have 2 monitors, i highly suggest you try this program..

In W2k you can just make a single bmp that is your full resolution size with the two different wallpapers you want merged (ie: 2x width by height) and set it to tile. A bit more work but effective without any third party software.

That's what I do. Much better than the $40 for ultramon, as I use the free multimon for monitor switching. http://www.mediachance.com/free/multimon.htm
