I have 2 harddrives and i was wondering if you get better performance if they are on seperate IDE cables or if they are on the same one?

Each IDE channel is shared, so with two devices they have to share the same bandwidth.

Having one HDD on a single channel therefore yields better performance than with two.

Therefore, in answer to your question, having 2 IDE drives on seperate cables would be better and more efficient than having them on the same cable.
