I'm looking at doing a custom mod, and I was curious if the guts from my external enclosure could be used with 2 hd's. It supports usb 2.0 and firewire. The power adaptor says it's capable of 2.0 amps at 12v. Doesn't say anything about 5v. I really have my doubts about this working as even if it has enough power it probably can't handle two ide devices on one channel.

I was thinking of giving it a try, but I really would like to not fry anything. Any educated opinions would be appreciated.

most drives suck over 1amp 12v on start up
your going to seriosly risk frying something

also very very very very very few of the USB to IDE chips support multiple drives
would not sujest even trying

Yeah, I figured it wouldn't work. Then again, I do have two 8gb hard drive's from xbox's that i have no use for. Hmmm, I think I might just be stupid and give it a try.
