I have a 74GB SATA 10,000rpm WD Raptor and a WD 200GB SATA drive. Both are currently internal in a Lian Li case with P4C800-E Deluxe and P4-C 1.8 CPU.

I would like to build a SFF quiet setup with the current P4-C or an Athlon 64 Socket 939, but I am concerned about SFF systems "burning up" with two such drives in them.

Is there any appropriate barebones SFF system that can handle the cooling necessary for such a setup without any substantial additional mods???

Or, are SFF systems designed primarily for one HDD or two slower HDD's ???

Please advise.

You can put those in a Shuttle, but there gonna run really toasty, especially that raptor. I don't advise it. I'd stick with mATX board and case if you want smaller yet still keep your high speed drives. Running HDD"s in a hot tempature enviroment is just asking for failure.
 
I'm running a 74 gig Raptor and a 250 gig 7k250 in my SB65g2.

My drives idle in the mid 40s. When things really start cooking and my x800pro VIVO @ XT starts pumping out the heat their temps can get much higher. Its not rare for me to see case and drive temps to hit the low 50s and my CPU temps to hit the high 50s / low 60s. My GPU and VRM temps can hit almost 80 C.

Probably not exactly recommended for the longest lifespan. I however, had not had a drive fail in any of my shuttles in the last few years. I've been running this setup, overclocked and hot, since October -> 3.2 @ 3.6, x800pro VIVO @ XT, 1 gig Corsair XMS, 2 HDs, Audigy2 zs, Lite-on combo drive, Vantec Stealth 80mm @ Smartfan, 250watt SilentX PSU.

(Steak is safe to eat at an internal temp of 63 C...)

The new, extended slightly, Yeong Yang Caspers seem to have pretty good cooling, what with their extra 60mm fans.

I have had two Shuttle systems with 2 x Raptors in RAID 0. A was surprised that they DO get quite hot. However, I disabled SmartFan and just set the main fan to MID and now they get only warm, even under load.
 
I am doing a Raptor, and a 160 WD IDE, with DVD all in one, Works fine.
