2 Firewire Ports

A lot of the external hard drives and enclosures that I've seen on Newegg and what not have 2 firewire ports and I was wondering what for? Is it for access by 2 computers or can you hook up one external to the other (somewhat like a hub) and have like a train of them. Thanks in advance.
 
Not exaclty sure what you are asking here. But yes you can daisy chain firewire. Before I went sata on my fileserver, I was using 2 quad cases via firewire800.

computer ---firewire cable--- bridge board case 1 ---- bridge board case 2

It worked great. Computer saw it as 8 drives. Just soft raided them and off I went.
