2 different cpu speeds listed in system properties?

Did a search but came up empty. So if the last line of System Properties-->General Tab reads this:
processor 1500MHz
599MHz, 2.0 GB of RAM

Why is that? This is a Pentium M and I guess it may throttle down to save power but I dont see the same effect on a different laptop with mobile chip. I have no idea what the second 599MHz stands for.

It's showing you the current clock speed of the processor. Speedstep has slowed it down to 599MHz for general use and while sitting idle to conserve power and generate less heat. You should be able to turn this feature off if you wish.
