I just finished upgrading my loop from 2 Danger Den Mag's (pieces of crap don't ever buy them) because they kept failing and making weird grinding noises to two DDC+'s. I'm running dual loops feeding into a quad reservoir. I have the pumps mounted on a 5 1/4 extender plate in a drive bay side by side. They are screwed down to this extender via some metal screws, bolts, and washers. There is an inordinate amount of vibration caused by the pumps on the chasis and I'm looking for the best way to quiet this down.
Currently I'm debating between Petra's Gel stuff, although I hear this causes the DDC's to overheat and just some regular sound dampening material to put on the area where the DDC's touch the 5 1/4 bay extender. Also I've been looking for some rubber screws that would fasten the extender to the sides of the 5 1/4 bay, but have yet to find any. Can anybody offer any suggestions or experience with regards to this? If this is confusing pics available upon request.
