Hello all,

I work from home and a reliable internet is absolutely essential. I have 1 cable connection and 1 DSL connection... Is it possible to have it where both connections are running simultaneously on the same computer? so if 1 connection craps out I experience no disruption and the working connection picks up the slack?

Is what I'm asking even possible?

Thanks,
Shhhh

This is definitely possible. You could just set up a router with both wan connections going into it. Set 2 different routes with 2 different administrative distances. I'm sure there are alot of free linux distros that could do this. Freesco comes to mind, altough I've never really played with it. You'd just need 3 nics and an old pc. Most home routers can only route between the one wan port and the internal switch if I'm not mistaken.

assuming you have a wireless router and modem if its verizon, you should be able to have 1 wired connection and a wireless connection with 2 gateways
