I have OEM Vista Business with the "Windows Anytime Upgrade" for Vista Ultimate. It is installed on one computer that is used every day and will continue to be.
I have a second computer with Vista Home Premium x64. The hassles and annoyances with x64, plus lacking fax and remote desktop, make Ultimate x32 bit seem great.
The problem is that since it is OEM, and I heard that the OEM editions are tied to the motherboard, I don't know if I would be able to activate it on a second computer to use the anytime upgrade.
I know from a legal standpoint the license is tied to the motherboard. But from a consumer standpoint, who already bought Vista Home Premium and an OEM of Vista Business as well as the extra money for an anytime upgrade, I am wondering if I am able to call up Microsoft, tell them I'm reinstalling Windows on a new hard drive (which I am doing), and activate on a second computer.
