Hi All,
I was just wondering,I am planning on adding a 2nd ATA100 hard drive to my system, and my question is will i see any performance decrease if I share the same IDE cable between the 2 drives.....both drives are 7200RPM 8 meg cach drives one is a 100 gig Western Digital and the other is an 80 GIG drive ???

The only thing going on this drive is my photoshop scratch disk and my Paging file in seperate partitions ???....Thanks....shkj

Theoretically, no difference..

You will only see a performance issue if you are trying to access both drives at the same time. Ide can only deal with one request at a time. That is why alot of the high end ata raid cards have 12 slots but only support 12 drives.
