Hey all,
Heres the thing,I have a 2.8c that I can only get too 3.4 on air with specs below but can run stable as can be at 3.3.Or go with a P4 2.4c SlaZ5 that is suppose to overclock well.I got the new 2.4c for a rig Im building for my parents and found it to be a M1 stepping and thought It may be a good idea to have this in my rig and give them a free 400Mhz upgrade :D .I know some of these chips dont overclock well but im just asking this to see if it is even worth changing it out to try it.

I would. Even if you could only hit 3.4 (witch is likely) you will have more memory bandwith. + you never know u might get it higher.

the 2.4 is a SLAZ3 not a Z5.I put it in last night and got it too 3.52 (294Fsb) stable with a 3DMark03 score of 7028.Im oging to keep the 2.4c.My memory divider is at 5:4 running my mem. at 464Mhz.
Thanks S.C. since you are the only person to reply.

Hello that is a pretty low 2003 3dmark I got around 6700ish
with an athlon 2800+ oc@ 2266 with a 200mhz fsb duel channel (2-2-2-6) you sure that you double checked that your 3d settings are set to the lowest? By the way I got rid of my Xt i dont think it liked my abit nf7-s revision 1.0 Hell went out and got a xpc instead as well as a 9600aiw ! Man i miss that card now but hey Im going with the abit ic7max as well as maybe a 2.8c want to overclock with some ddr 4000 !

You have a screen shot of a 6K score with that setup?Thats a high score for that rig.
BigGreg:All my stuff is in my sig and I put AS5 on everything.Last night I was running at a 1:1 divider so I could run my memory at 533Mhz and my cpu at 3.2 just to see if my ram would run what it says it will,And it does.Im going to try and pust my rams speeds tonight if I get time.I would like to have my ram running at about 550Mhz or so and my cpu at 3.3 or 3.4 but it will be hard since Im on air.

This is going to be one of those lets bash each other post but here goes.... I don't have a pic of that 2003 3dmark I don't save stuff like that but maybe I should so I can justify every single little
detail for the world to see! (no disrespect intended)

However I have since gotton rid of that Ati branded 9800Xt (3d2001se 330~around 17000~18000/once)in exchange for a 9600aiw (I know it sucks) And a shuttle mini xpc barebone both I bought for no more then 20 dollers more. (total paid for the 9800xt at best buy was 529.99

Reasons being that my Abit nf7-s revision 1.0 mobo would not support a 200mhz frontside buss hence the 9800xt would do fine at 190x2=380 duel channel at 3dmark and others but started to have vpu recover kick in every time I played nfsu with details only set 1280~1024 at 4x 8x balanced and vert sinc off overdrive enabled . At 166 it was stable as a clam but I said screw it I would get something better this spring.

So sorry I can't run that same setup. But gurantee that i had a better score due to my ram settings 2-2-2-6 @380mhz 2800+ @ 1.75volts 12~190= 2280mhz (sorry I may have made an error before with my speeds posted) Windows xp pro on two Raptor's
striped 0 on sata so there now you know at least what I have and it is up to you what your conclusion is but thise drives with those timeings ensure that me my 6700ish score @1024~768 100hrz all set to perfomance ! Thanks and have a great time at the bench :D
