2.8C D1...what to expect?

I've had this chip for about 3 months, and haven't had a lot of time to play with a whole lot. I was wondering what most people are getting on these D1s. Step code is SL6WJ and it's from the Phillipines. So far, heat is my biggest enemy, as I can reach 3.2 gigs stable at stock volts. I couldn't find a Phillipines chip on the cpudatabase, so if anyone could tell me what kind of results they have, it would be appreciated. I'm not expecting an M0 miracle, but 3.5 gigs with a Zalman 7000A-Cu would be ncie.

Anywhere from 3.4 to 3.6 is reachable. I have my 2.8C D1 cpu at 250 fsb at 1.625 vcore.

mines stops at about 3.3ghz, but that's cause of memory limitations. I'm be getting some 4000 in soon, I'll let you know my results.

I'll be overclocking mine soon on water, any results with with watercooling? I'm assuming 3.4 or higher?

yeah, definitly. Aslong as you've got a quaility nb cooler and fast enough ram that puppy should fly.

You could always lower the divider to 5:4 :p

I ordered a Zalman AL-CU, a Thermalright NB-1 northbridge cooler, an additional 120mm fan, and a VGA silencer last night to try to cool this stuff down. Maybe I'll see 250FSB out of it now.

Tried it, still wouldn't get any farther no matter the voltage. I think it might be my nb cooling but I doubt it, the thing I put on is beastly. I'm gonna have to check it out latter tonight though.

You might just have a bum chip, but I doubt it. Did you set v-dimm to 2.8V? That SOMETIMES helps, but if your memory is at 5:4. voltage shouldn't be a problem. What northbridge cooler did you use? I ordered a Thermalright NB-1 and hopefully that will allow me to take my FSB a little higher than stock.

Sounds like the Winbond CH5 bug; chips which your memory use. They have always had an issue with i865/875 boards. You just hit a brick wall and cant get any higher regardless of dividers and voltages.

My 2.8C D1 went to 3.5 too, using Kingston HyperX pc4000 for running 1:1 but cannot go further even with dividers. But as always with ocing nothing is certain, luck plays a large role too so don't expect a high oc but be happy if you get it :)
