Can anyone tell me how a P4 3.06 Ghz / 533FSB stacks up against other P4's with 800 FSB.

More specifically, against a 2.6Ghz / 512 / 800. I have the choice of the two for a second system and I am not sure which one to go with. I haven't purchased the mobo yet so if my mobo supports 800 fsb isn't an issue. Any and all advice will be appreciated.

the 533MHz would limit you besides....you could probably oc that 2.6 beyond 3.06, and stilll have the faster FSB as well.

i had both, did some tests and found the 2.6C to be the winner. It's higher FSB and potential OC won against the 3.06's low bus speed and lower potential OC. the 2.6C will get some really nice memory bandwidth with some good RAM.

Well I had a 2.4C and a 3.06. The 3.06 was marginally faster. Not by alot, but certainly by some amount. When I overclocked the 2.4C to 2.6GHz (For some reason that's all it would do) it was pretty close if not just as fast as the 3.06. Then I OC'ed the 3.06 to 3.6GHz and it of course was much better.

My 3.0C and 3.0E at 3.42GHz kick the 3.06's ass. I'd also like to point out that at stock speeds the 3.06 was raped by the 3.0C in EVERYTHING. In short a 2.8C is probably your best budget "C" chip right now. If not that then the 3.0C comes to mind as a good OC'er and it's already plenty fast for most stuff right now.
