I'm going to buy new RAM and a new motherboard to OC it, what can I expect? I'm probably getting a P4C800, and PC3500 Corsair, or Mushkin RAM.

I like these kind of threads.

Answer: unknown, everything clocks different, I'd say about 2.8 - 3.0 Ghz.

You can also check out the CPU database at www.overclockers.com to see what people get out of this.

Don't expect much more than 3ghz, I've known only a few people who got theirs higher than that. I'd get a cheaper Mobo too, like a P4P800 since you really won't be pushing it with sub 200mhz fsb overclocks.

I ran my 2.5 at 3.0 and never had any problems. I was able to operate with it at 3.4 as well but never really felt comfortable like that while buring DVD's and such, so I just ran it at 158FSB and was fine.

Currently have a 2.8/800 cpu and so far so good. Running at 3.5 now and will see if can do any better this weekend.

Enjoy...

It'll overclock better with the new board but how much? It's a crap shoot. good luck.

This system(1st in sig) will post at 3.6 w/1.6vcore.
For some reason, it will not post at any speed above 1.6vcore. Otherwise I would probably get passed 3.6, considering my idle temp at 3.6 was less than 100F.

For now I run it at 166x20 (updated bios today which allowed higher than 165fsb for this cpu.)
