2.4GHz... that's it?

So here's my problem the CPU runs at 2.4GHz and I want to go higher but I can't. I have reached 2.45 but that's not enough. I have seen people with the same CPU running at 2.7GHz (+/-100MHz) or even 3000+ Venice running at this speed with value RAM and some even have stock HSF. Some say that at least 20A (or 20mA?) is needed on the +12V rail and I have 18A but then again I have seen people going beyond 2.4GHz with 1.4-1.45V. First I thought the motherboard had problem going beyond 250mhz*10 ref. clock so I tried 272*9, 4HT, divider 140, so mem was ~188mhz (376) at 2.5-3-3-8, and it booted so I tried 273 and it failed to boot and increasing the Vcore did not help. I noticed that loosening the timings to *3*-3-3-8 at 272 crashed what does that mean the mem doesn't like loose timings?

P.S.
Someone had the same problem with a K8N Neo4-F and said that going back from BIOS 1.B0 to 1.6 solved the Ref. clock problem so I'm using 1.6 now but as you can see it did nothing for me other than giving me a wider range of mem dividers.

There are alot of 3200's that hit a brick wall at 2.4ghz, unfortunately im thinking this is your case.

I have a 3200+ Venice...

Yes, you do. I was referring to the Venice, but there are other 3200's that are even worse in some cases (I think eclipse had one that wouldnt OC).

Well my old now fried XP3200 wouldn't even overclock to 2.3Ghz stable (.1Ghz over stock), so be thankfull you don't have such a sucky overclocking card. (on a sidenote I have a sempron 3400+ that only overclocks to 2.4Ghz stable).

Card?

If you've bought your venice recently, then it's most likely that you have an E6 venice (find out for sure with CPU-Z), which shares the same core as the Athlon X2's. eclipse has one and so do I. The only difference between us is that I hit 2.4GHz with only 1.425V while his E6 needed around 1.6V. This version of the Venice seems to be very inconsistant; there are some freak cases where people have gotten close to 3GHz. Otherwise it's 2.4GHz, 2.5 if you're lucky.

Yes, Eclipse had one that sucked, but what's worse is I had a 3400+ that clocked exactly the f-ing same. 2.4GHz was the MAX on that thing, and that was with 1.65v (clawhammer). It did 2.35GHz on 1.55v, so that last 50MHz diddn't make much sense, but any speed over 2.4GHz exactly = fail. God that processor sucked. At least Ozzi's 3200+ was cheaper.
