I just bought a PX865PE Pro II and am having some issues getting the Enhanced memory
mode to work at anything above stock levels. Here is what components I have:

Geil 512mb Ultra Dual Channel DDR500 (2.5-7-4-4)
Intel P4 2.4c with stock heatsink and fan, and Arctic Silver 3
Radeon 9800 Pro
Thermaltake 480 watt silent Power Supply

I'm starting to think that the processor is what is bottlenecking me, and it surprises me because I have never heard of a 2.4c that couldn't get around 250 mhz FSB. If I switch away from stock cooling how much of a difference will that make? I have tried just about every voltage level possible. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

actually, its your ram. Enhanced memory mode most likely trys tighter timings, which geil cant handle. Shoulda gone witth mushkin or any bh-5 chip if you wanted tight timings, but then, geil seems good for high fsb.

Albatron has it set in their BIOS that at Auto setting raising the FSB speed raises the AGP and PCI speeds as well. Once I set those down to stock levels manually, everything worked fine. It is running at 3.0 GHz with a 250 MHz FSB and memory enhancement enabled with no problems. Runs at 35 degrees C idle/ and 47 degrees C after 24 hours of 100% CPU load.

Which is okay with me since there seems to be quite a bit of leeway with the MHz.
