Hmm.. *ponder*, how far do you think I could OC a 2.4b with Northwood core, having 3 fans and stock HSF?
Just curious.. doesn't really matter to me, if I was HC about OCing I'd have gone AMD.

how old is it...

if it is around 2-3 years old then i would say 2.8-2.9ghz tops. if it's only around 1 year old i would say 3.0ghz.

i had one 2 years ago that did 2.93ghz and i had one last year around this time that did 3.3ghz

Northy Bs should be able to hit maybe 2.8 Ghz, 3.0 Ghz seems like a common point for it.

How do I find the stepping?

Also I only have 1 stick of 512 DDR PC2700 and 1 stick of pc2100 256.

Ah thank god for that pic, I was about convinced I was the only one who had the metallic over-top of his proc ( name escapes me ) looking like rubber-skid-marked panties :D

I bought a bunch of 2.4B multi vid when they first came out, all did 3.3ghz and above even had a 2.0ghz multvid that did 3.1ghz. If it fairly new, i would say 3.1ghz+.

Mine is a C1 stepping. I can run it at 3.333Ghz (185fsb) stable. I usually run it at 3.2 though just to be on the safe side.

I would say it's on default voltage....but then I'd be full of shit because my P4P800-d overvolts by .1v.

my multivid sl6rz (2.4b) only does 2.7 :(

But with AMD you'd probably only get 200 to 300 MHz overclock. I perfer Intel, fast and don't have to use that hair dryer HSF to get the extra MHz.
