the title pretty much explains it all. which processor will perform better overclocked on air (zalman 7000)?

For overclocking, the 2600+mobile. The intel will run hot on air, and you won't be able to OC it much without watercooling.

I agree, the mobile 2600+ will overclock better with less heat problems.

It depends on what stepping you get and what you plan to do with the chip. If you manage to get a IQZFA stepping 2600+, then that's your best option. However, an AQYHA stepping 2600+ won't go as high as a SL6Z3 2.4C.

thats what i was thinking too, but i hear people getting 4+ ghz on air and i was just wondering how well they perform. i guess 2600+ it is.......

thanks.

Hahah you won't be getting a 2.4A Prescott to 4GHz on air without melting your motherboard . Get the Mobile 2600+, should oc to at least 2.5GHz on air. If you have xtreme cooling it'll go to 2.8-3.0GHz. 2.4A can go to 3.7GHz usually on air cooling but even then it's only at 206 FSB and without Hyper-Threading. Plus imagine the 60+ C cpu temps and 100+ C mosfet temps
