2 2007's

+More screen space
+Would not need a high power (latest and greatest) GPU to run games decently
+Great for multi-tasking
+Slightly cheaper (not a huge deal)
+I could take just one with me to LANs

1 2407

+WOW factor. This thing is huge!
+Plenty of hook-ups (component, USB, media card reader, etc) which would allow me to connect Xbox 360 (this is a big deal)
+Would not need a new desk (see below)

I'm not a huge gamer, nor a huge multi-tasker. Which would you choose?

(I'm not willing to put the case on the floor for fear of dust!)

why not put the case on the floor man? that thing is MASSIVE and you could fit 2x 2007 if you did do that.

I put my V2000 on the floor... because I would be in constant fear of it rolling off. <_<

My house (actually my moms, I'm 16) is fairly small but more than anything old. It's ventilation is horrible and subsequently gets pretty dusty. (I have to sweep my floor every night)

But I'll consider it! A new desk is only like <$100 though...

despite all of the issues people are talking about with the 2407wfp......i think they are all to damn picky and if you dont do photoshop or graphics work the 2407 is downright frigin huge and so kick ass....ive had mine for about 2 weeks and i do alot internet work gaming and i dont see a thing wrong with it 24" is enough room for anything......i am going to purchase 1 more in the future (hopefully) but i threw around the option for 2 of the 20's or this one and i went with the single 24" and i tell you what i dont regret it at all!!!!

My suggestion of course is the 2407WFP all the way!!!!!!

I agree. Some of the people who buy the 2407 complain that it doesn't have perfect color, etc. but if they want a monitor for graphic deisign then you have to shell out the $!

I'm still looking for more input. Currently leaning towards the 2407.

Personally, I'd go with the two 2007WFPs. I have one right now, and after going through quite a few in-store demonstrations, three purchases, and hundreds of hours of research (gah!), I can honestly say that the 2007's are incredible monitors. I have one now, and the difference between it and anything but the NEC 20" (I forget the model number), which costs quite a bit more, is surprising. There is almost no backlight bleeding, extremely good viewing angles, deep black levels, consistent color across the screen, and despite the claimed 16ms response time, I can honestly say that it has the least ghosting of any monitor I've come in contact with (notably the Viewsonic VX2025wm and Westinghouse LCM-22w2.) I do plenty with Photoshop and related, being a multimedia student, and this baby's actually nicer to use than my CRT.

Frankly, after going through the horror stories that I've had so far, there's no question in my mind that the goal should be quality over size. Heck, even if you only get ONE 2007WFP, having one of the better consumer-level monitors on the market is worth the loss in inches, if you're worried about problems with the 2407.

Also of note: I have, and use frequently, an XBox 360. Get the VGA cable, and use it on whichever monitor you get. I have mine connected through VGA to my 2007WFP, and it looks excellent.

As animasaki said, component to VGA cables is the way to go for XBox 360 on the 2007's.

1900x1200 gaming is going to be very hard on your system.

24" is definately cool, but if you're like me, you'll just sit closer to your 20" so that it fills up your field of vision.

If you go with 2007's, make sure you're absolutely certain that you have a real need for dual monitors. I'd rather put that extra money toward the new G80 or R600.

Indeed. I love having dual monitors, but that's because I like to multitask, especially when I'm on a project. If you don't multitask, there's no reason at all for dualies.

I still vote 2007WFP, though. :p

EDIT: Actually, it's not component to VGA. Just use the straight 360 VGA cable. You can get it in any Electronics Botique/Best Buy/Circuit City/etc. It'll run you $40 for a new, Microsoft-brand cable, but it's worth it for the quality.

A 16 year old with a 2407  consider yourself blessed and yeah that's my vote as well

Another thing that is probably worth mentioning is that I'm getting a 7950GX2 when Danger Den releases their new waterblock for it

Thanks for the input guys! :)

2407 (ordered mine 2 days ago). dual 20's might be ok for application tasks but if you're into games or movies you have to go 2407. I had the 2007wfp (widescreen) and it was too small for me so I returned it for the 2407wfp.

If you do go dual it makes more since to get the 20 inch 4:3 1600x1200 side by side. Rather than the wide 20 dual which would be 1680x1050 (way too short and stretched in dual).
