I am looking for a decent 2.0 set of speakers for my computer. Looking to stay around 125ish if at all possible. I have read alot of the different post on here and alot of reviews but can't really decide. I will say I am hearing impaired so I don't hear things as clearly as most people do in music. They will be used for games, music and videos/movies.I don't need alot of bass, but I would like to have some.

I have looked in Best Buy here and for what they had on display there was really nothing I found that I thought sounded that great. I am trying to stay away from getting a T-Amp and bookshelfs but if that is a better option then I may consider it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I plan on trying to order today if at all possible.

Have Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speaker Systems on two desktops and find them very satisfying. Are they "audiophile quality"?, of course not but very pleasing to listen to with typical mp3 recordings.

Yeah I had been doing some reading up on the AV40's but most places that I see sell them for around 140 or so which is a little more than what I want to spend. I need to do some more searching and see if I can get them any cheaper and then read up on the place selling them to see how good of a rep. they have.

Yeah $140 is too much for the AV40's imo. I've seen them on sale for $100 shipped.

Of course, it's all relative and all the other speakers are crap at the $100 range, then that'd be okay.

There's a mini comparison here between the Behringer MS40 and M-Audio AV40's :

I am extremely pleased with my bookshelf speaker kit from parts-express. But, going with bookshelf speakers you also must factor in the cost of a receiver (used ~$120)
I've found that the reciever is very nice to have though and there is absolutely zero feedback as integrated audio may have, and there is no need to purchase a sound card (saves $80).

If I only had $100, I'd spend it on a pair of headphones. It's just not enough money to get good sound with speakers.

I really doubt that you'll be happy with 15w per channel. That's really weak. it will be distorted when you try to crank it up.

I think those T-amps were intentionally created with tube like distortion characteristics so it shouldn't sound terrible if you turn it up. But I probably wouldn't listen to Tchaikovsky 1812 if you want your amp to make it out in one piece.

Ok thanks for the info on the T-amp folks appreciate it. I will probally steer clear of that setup then. I just dont have the space for a receiver in my room right now so that is out of the question.

What about these has anybody had any dealings with them http://www.ncixus.com/products/27404/S330D/EDIFIER/#CustomerReviews? The reviews that I can find on them are pretty good from what I can see.

I had thought about going with the Klipsh Promedia 2.1's but have concerns about the burning out that people have experienced. I even checked them out at Best Buy and the back of the sub was pretty hot there which concerns me.

If you have a Guitar Center close to you, you may want to see if they are running a sale on the AV40's. I picked mine up from a local GC for about $100 a while back and have been pleased with them thus far.
