Im looking for a set of cheap 2.0 speakers with decent sound for occasional use. My free dell 2.0 set just broke after like 4 years and im looking for something with decent sound in that price range since I rarely use my speakers and dont wanna spend 100+.

For the price they will blow you away...the separate tweeter and mid range/bass driver compliment each other perfectly...I mean, these are the shit. Very solid sound with rich sharp bass...no really boomy (no sub here) but perfectly capable of loud music and movies.

HP you say? YES! And dont let the pictures fool you...these things are tiny, maybe 2 1/2 inches high 1 1/2 inch thick...but just like the Creatives above for their size and single speaker these also sound quite phenomenal...watched some movies on these with my laptop on the go or working and youd almost think you have a pair of mini studio monitors instead.

I am a music and audio lover...cant get enough...so when I talk audio and quality Id like to think that I know a thing or two...and IMHO these two above are the best picks of the litter for your price range, I wouldn't go with anything else.
 
Oh plus...for whatever reason...the Creatives also come with a free copy of Tom Clancy's End War for PC...

Also, the HP's are powered by USB port...no need for external power. They don't seem to eat much power either.
 
Can't go wrong with anything in the Creative T-series. I have the old T20s and they sound great. Very solid construction, too - they've been through a lot and still look and sound brand new.

apparently thats way out of the price range plus if your gonna pay $100

for the eleventy-thousandth time

it is not 40AV, it is AV40

furthermore, $100 to $150 is not $50 to $75, and "best" is not something easily assessed

I would either suggest the Creative's that have been linked already, or the Altec VX4221 (and variants, yes I realize its 2.1, so sue me), either way should be cost less than $80
