Hey All,

I'm building 6 1U servers for a new co-location we are doing and I need to build 6 1U servers as small task applicances. We are planning to go with fairly standard desktop equipment for these builds eg. MATX boards & Dual SATA in Mirrored RAID.

I was initially looking at getting Supermicro 1U CSE-512L-260B Black 14": http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811152087

But I just noticed in the review that they don't have enough room for audio on the back panel, which is pretty standard stuff when it comes to consumer end MATX equipment these days.

Is this an issue with all 1U equipment ?

Do you guys have alternate recomendations ?

do you need sound? if not just get an atx board something with removable audio jacks,

my only DFI SLI-DR had a removable audio jacks..

you could also de-solder the jacks

1u? You only really have 3 choices, Asus, Supermicro, or Tyan. All include MB's.

Your almost always going to have clearance issues with self built 1u machines.

Oh' and there are some cheap boxes on geeks.com if you don't mind older hardware.
