Is there such a beast that is a cross between a 1u cooler for low clearance and a 7000 or a 7700? I've not seen such a beast but am looking.

The only thing youll find in 1u is a passive straight line fin fan, anything else would be too big. Why would you need a 1u zalman fan anyway? if its for opties or xeons then just use the stock 1u heatsinks that come with them :p. You won't find a 1u heatsink with a fan that can cool the latest cpus in a rack-mount case, only the pass-through air ones with a bunch of 60mm fans on the side work soz.
 
I'm working on a project and that description was about the only way i could think of to describe what i'm looking for. basically a smaller low noise cooler, however i might be out of luck, but still it never hurts to ask.
