Been toying with the idea of watercooling for a couple months now and did some looking around at kits at various online shops. When I first got into computers H2O cooling was considered exotic and only the true hardcore overclockers did it,

Looks to me that now days it's more main stream and for the masses and far more cost effective than it was then and seems to be a truly viable alternative to air cooling.

seems to have everything included for easy set up by a first timer.
I'm considering a HD4870 and the GPU in the kit works on them so I wouldn't have buy extra stuff.

Figured that kit with the Feser one coolant would get me on my way.

Just looking for some opinions and pointers.
 
Firstly I don't own a WC'd comp but its been my dream for years and so I look at the reviews...

seems to me thats pretty generic setup A type of stuff. The apogee GT is pretty outdated but it was a decent performer and the whole package is a pretty good price. That seems to me to be a sidewinder custom kit so if you ask em for a different block (like say the fusion) they might give you the same price.

Anyways I gotta go, but it wont come pre-assembled so you might be better off building one yourself (quieter fans? smaller/larger rad? etc).
 
build yourself your own loop. these kits all are terrible in comparison. if you dont want to build your own. save some money and get high end air cooled. they will perform just as well.

It's all Swiftech components, and not bad, either.
 
The fact that it was Swiftech components and ones that I see mentioned as good on many forums was the main thing that got me looking at this kit,
I see the Fusion CPU blocks mentioned a lot too so I had considered doing as MrWizard suggested and calling them about possibly swapping one of those into the kit.

Overall it looks as though it could handle a 2 GPU setup easily and wouldn't require a lot of case mods to install.

Another question:

With 2 GPUs, do they cool better in parallel or in series as far as loop layout goes?

parallel means you don't get the temp impact but you get the pressure drop, serial means you get the temp impact but not the pressure drop. Minimal dif between the two.
