As a long time reader of the [H]ardOCP page and a member of the community since this, http://web.archive.org/web/19980109031025/http://anandtech.com/, I feel compelled to display my newest PC. Being very poor, I had a limited budget. Anybody have any suggestions on routing my wiring better?

My humble specs are:

Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe
Sempron 3200+
1 GB DDR2 - Corsair TwinX PC 5400
EVGA 7600 GTS X2 in SLI
Seagate 7600.1 160 GB EIDE
Seagate 7600.1 120 GB EIDE
Ultra 350W dual rail PS
Sony DRU - 810A
Enroute - 1x 120mm Panaflow Medium CFM Fan
1x 80mm Panaflow High CFM Fan

Wiring? It looks pretty damn good to me, compared to that, my rig is a nightmare!

Seriously, don't be all down on your new rig just because it didn't cost the same as a mortgage. As long as you truly appreciate what you have and that you're happy with the outcome, that's all that matters!

Oh, and you're wiring looks fine to me.

Heh--I see you haven't installed your RAM yet.

The wiring's fine. Especially with a stock HSF and a relatively-low-power Sempron 3200, heat won't be a real big issue. It looks like you have some sort of drive power cable hanging down right next to the CPU HSF. I would suggest moving it away from the HSF and routing it more or less alongside the ATX power cable bundle.

Mohonri - Good point, however I've got the cable tightly strapped against the fan. Do you think that proximity will still cause issue for concern?

Thanks for your replys, I haven't built a PC in years, it feels good again...

That's good wiring, better than anything I've done... and it does feel good to build a new rig, especially booting it up for the first time :D

As long as it isn't blocking any airflow (I thought it was against the side of the heatsink itself, which apparently isn't the case), it should be fine.
